After many years` stay in England they returned to their native Denmark and in August 2004 opened their studio DANCE ACADEMY LAXHOLM just north of Copenhagen.

Hans and Anne are both Danish, and started dancing when they were approximately 3 years old. In 1974 they decided to move to London for one year to improve their dancing and, hopefully, win a Danish championship. Well, they were more successful than they had ever dreamt of and had a fantastic career, culminating first in winning the Amateur European Championship in 1979, the World Championship in 1979 and 1980, and turning professional after they won the British Open Championships in Blackpool in May 1980.
As professionals they won the U.S. Open Championships three times, became European Champions in 1984 and were runners up in most other major championships during the 1980s until they retired from competitive dancing in 1989 to have their daughter, Lisamaria.

In 1986 they started the now famous company CHRISANNE with partners Peter & Christina Dobner. Initially Hans and Anne were promoting the company on their worldwide travels, but after their retirement from competitive dancing Anne went into the company and spent most of her time on helping to develop the business, whilst Hans continued to travel and coach all around the world. During these years Hans developed his book on competitive ballroom dancing called initially “Would you like an explanation?” In January this year the fourth edition of the book was launched, and it was decided to change the title to “Would you like to dance?” In January 2007 he produced a DVD called "PAST, PRESENT, AND FUTURE OF BALLROOM DANCING" in co-operation with superstars William Pino and Alessandra Bucciarelli. The DVD features exercises necessary for the discipline of the dancer`s body, all performed by William and Alessandra.

In the late nineties Anne re-joined Hans in teaching, and having sold their half of CHRISANNE to their partners, they decided to go back to their native Denmark in July 2001.

In August 2004, they started their own studio in Kongevejs-Centret in Hørsholm, 1/2 hour north of Copenhagen, and the following year Anne became one of the four adjudicators on the Danish TV programme "Vild med Dans" (the Danish equivalent of Strictly Come Dancing), and has taken part in all thirteen series sofar.

In the little pastime they have, they both like to play golf, and spending time with their two papillons, Buffy and Brownie.

In Autumn 2015 Anne was co-writer on a book about their life called “Giv mig et År” (Give me a year).
